Baptism is the first Sacrament of Initiation and is the formal induction into the Christian life. One of the Godparents of the baptized child must be in good standing with the Catholic Church; must have received their Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. Also must be able to provide a letter of Good Standing saying that they are qualified to be a Godparent from their Pastor. Please contact the Church Office to schedule a Baptism and to sign up for the Baptismal Class.
Our Parishes strive to make the First Communion experience special for each child and their family. First Communion is a major rite of passage in the Catholic Church. As one of the seven Sacraments, First Communion typically falls around the age of 7, (Grade 2), when a child is deemed capable of reason and therefore able to understand the miracle of the Eucharist.
The spiritual effects of the Sacrament of Penance are:
Reconciliation with God by which the penitent recovers grace; Reconciliation with the Church; Remission of the eternal punishment incurred by mortal sins; Remission, at least in part, of temporal punishments resulting from sin; Peace and serenity of conscience, and spiritual consolation; An increase of spiritual strength for the Christian battle.

The Confirmation two-year program traditionally starts when students are in the 7th grade. They will begin the second year when starting 8th grade. Jennifer Beard, Director of Religious Education, is the Confirmation Teacher.
The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contract. Covenant always expresses a relationship between persons. The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God.
Couples are asked to contact Father Anthony at least six months before setting a wedding date.
When the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is given, the hoped-for effect is that, if it be God's will, the person be physically healed of illness. But even if there is no physical healing, the primary effect of the Sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or the frailty of old age. If you or your loved one becomes seriously ill, please call the church office to schedule an anointing.
