Our Mission at Our Lady of Lourdes Religious Education program is to provide quality Catholic Christian education for our students. Instruction in doctrine tradition, ritual, morals, and family values prepares our students to become active, informed and devout members of the Body of Christ. It is our mission to assist in preparing your child for a life in Christ and instill a desire to serve others in accordance with the Gospel message.
The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason, the family home is rightly called the "domestic church" - a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity.
The Christian family forms an environment within which faith is professed and witnessed. When family members pray together, engage in lifelong learning, forgive one another, serve each other, welcome others, affirm and celebrate life, and bring justice and mercy to the community, they help each other to live the faith and to grow in faith.
Giving proper example to children is the most powerful form of childrearing. Helping children to grow in virtue contributes to their character formation. If we are to do this well, our own lives and values and our faithfulness to daily prayer and weekly mass are absolutely essential.
All volunteers are required to have current Safe Environment training from the Nashville Diocese.
